THIS STARTED AS A SCHOOL ASSIGNMENT AND IT'S BLOSSOMING INTO A PERSONAL PROJECT. I asked strangers to write down how they responded to the attacks on September 11, 2001, and then I took their portraits... Some wrote about their immediate response and others wrote about the lingering effects of the event in their lives today.           I FINALLY TOOK A CLASS WITH THE INFAMOUS JOHN REES. We've covered a lot of ground in the past six weeks (literally and figuratively). The following images are my responses to assignments given in class.  ICONIC + IRONIC  SELF-PORTRAIT (inspired by a favorite artist)  Barbara Kruger has been a favorite of mine for a long time. CAPITOL REEF IS INCREDIBLE. The UVU Landscape Photography class, taught by Travis Lovell, joined forces with John Rees' Photographic Illustration class and set off to Capitol Reef for a week. Good company, good food, fresh air, and massive piles of camera equipment made this the best week of my college career. By far.                   |
