E X P E R I E N C E
Volunteer Educator, Rheumatic Rescue
May 2013-present
Rheumatic Rescue is a humanitarian organization working to prevent childhood rheumatic heart disease
in Western Samoa. My objectives are twofold: First, help educate Samoan-speaking children and care-givers
about rheumatic heart disease through art, song, dance, and theater. Second, raise awareness of the issue
and garner funding for the program through photography, videography, graphic design, branding, web
development, public service announcements, and constructing flyers, pamphlets, posters, and brochures.
During my four trips to Western Samoa, I have embraced the complex nuances of teaching in a foreign
country by employing artistic & theatrical methods to solidify learning and knock down cultural barriers.
Volunteer Videographer, Mobility Mission
August 2013-present
Creator of a video-based public awareness campaign for Mobility Mission, a group that offers low-cost
prosthetic limbs to amputees in developing countries.
Photographer, Videographer & Sound Technician, Brigham Young University, Publications & Graphics Dept.
August 2013-present
Duties include studio photography, event photography, portraiture, cataloging, sorting, processing,
and editing images, developing film in (and maintaining) a traditional darkroom, studio management,
videography, sound recording, sound mixing, and teaching five teenage interns from a local charter school.
Volunteer Art Teacher, Canary Gardens, Grief Support Group.
September 2013-present.
Currently collaborating with grief and bereavement therapists to develop an art curriculum that will be
implemented with children and teenagers at weekly grief support group meetings.
Presenter, Utah Arts Education Association, St.George Conference
February 2014
Founder & Editor, HEX Magazine, Utah Valley Arts & Entertainment
Jan. 2011- Jan. 2013
I spent two years with the project editing, writing, photographing, designing, distributing, interviewing,
recruiting contributors and securing funding for the publication. Two friends and I launched this project
with a grant from Utah Valley University. The aim of the publication was to highlight the vibrancy of the
arts in the valley, kindle ideas for creative living, affirm the attractiveness of the community and expand
the scope of its members by promoting urban and suburban exploration. The name HEX is an abstract
nod to the tessellating shapes that make up honeycomb, the fruit of Utah’s state insect.
Co-Founder, Provo Poetry & Open Mic Night, Provo, UT
Nov. 2010-present
In an effort to create a living platform for poetry in Utah Valley, some friends and I
organized an Open-Mic poetry night. We solicited guest appearances from
nationally-recognized poets such as Alex Caldiero (featured on NPR) and Lance
Larsen (former Utah Poet Laureate). In tandem, we launched a poetry website
and created a biannual community chapbook called The Likewise Folio. The open
mic night is held bimonthly at the Coffeepod (426 w 1230 n) in Provo, UT.
Freelance Photographer, Clark Goldsberry Photography
Sept. 2005-present
Business has taken me all across the country photographing weddings and family
gatherings. I’ve learned through trial and error the intricacies and complexities of
photographic entrepreneurship and freelance artistry.
Guest Lecturer, Art History, Utah Valley University, Orem, UT
August 2012
Prepared lessons and taught groups of 200 university students in a large auditorium setting.
